Race day hype call: marathon, 5K, triathlon, the start line
HYPELINE books a live hype person to phone you in the start corral and spend 20 seconds ($6.99) or 40 seconds ($9.99) reminding you that the training is banked and today is collection day. Book at least 3 hours out; calls run 8:00 AM–9:00 PM in your local time, which covers most start times but not a 6 AM gun.

The corral is forty minutes of standing still
The worst part of a long race is not the race, it is the forty minutes penned in with several thousand strangers while your body decides this was a mistake. Book the call for ten minutes before the gun and it lands in the middle of that.
Early starts are a real constraint
Calls cannot be placed before 8:00 AM local. Many marathons go off at 6:30 or 7:00, which puts the start line out of reach. The workaround people use is booking the call for the night before, at the moment the kit is laid out and the doubt sets in — which is arguably the better slot anyway.
How to book one
Pick a package: HYPE PRO (20 seconds, $6.99) or HYPE MAX (40 seconds, $9.99).
Say what the moment is, in a sentence — that sentence is the script material.
Choose a date and time at least 3 hours out, between 8:00 AM and 9:00 PM your local time.
Pay up front. Card only, through Stripe.
Answer the phone. A real hype person yells belief at you for 20 or 40 seconds, then hangs up.
Who makes this call
Gas Station Gary — Gasses you up like premium unleaded. Specialty: gym sessions. HYPELINE's hype people are named characters, and you pick one at booking.
What it sounds like
“THE TRAINING IS ALREADY DONE. TODAY IS THE VICTORY LAP OF FOUR MONTHS.”
“YOUR ONLY JOB IS THE NEXT MILE. NOT THE OTHER TWENTY-FIVE.”
“EVERY PERSON AT THIS START LINE IS ALSO TERRIFIED. YOU ARE JUST HONEST.”
Questions people ask
Can you call me at 6 AM on race morning?
No. The earliest slot is 8:00 AM in your local time zone, and that limit is enforced at booking. For an early gun, book the evening before.
Can my running club book calls for the whole team?
Each call is a separate booking for one consenting person and one number. There is no group call.
Will they know my race?
Only what you write in the occasion field. Put the distance, the goal time and what you're scared of in there and the call is about that.
